Bamboo Bed

I love the extremely high quality Hosta bed set by Greenington. It not only appeals to me because of it's all wood construction, but also because that wood construction is made from Bamboo. Bamboo not only looks amazing but is very strong and is environmentally friendly. The type of Bamboo they use for this set (and the other products from this manufacturer) is called Moso. Moso Bamboo is the best species for furniture due to its hardness, durability and stability. It is 20% harder than oak. The bamboo bed is a platform bed so there is no need for a boxspring/foundation. The nightstands that come with the set are perfect, it has one drawer. I find two drawers just collect unwanted items which turns the nightstand into more of a storage unit. Some manufacturers out there are very enviromentally friendly but the construction quality suffers. On the flip side there are some great quality manufacturers out there that could care less about the environment. You don't have to be an environmentalist to appreciate what Greenington (the manufacturer of this set) does. You are not only getting amazing quality and construction but are also getting a set that is very environmentally friendly.
